Geek Bar Not Hitting? Charging and What to Check

A Geek Bar is a sealed disposable with a rechargeable battery. It is draw-activated: there is no fire button, and it heats when you inhale. When one stops hitting, check four things in this order: the battery, the e-liquid, the airflow and the mouthpiece.

1. Charge it

All 9 Geek Bar models at Vaperan charge by USB Type-C. Battery sizes run from 650mAh to 1500mAh, and a Geek Bar needs recharging before its e-liquid runs out. A device that was working and has simply stopped producing vapor often has a flat battery.

Plug a USB-C cable into the device and into a computer port or a basic 5V USB adapter. The specification lists for the Pulse X 25K, 2GO 50K and Hookah X 25K include a battery life indicator on the screen. Give a fully drained device 15 minutes on the cable before deciding that it will not charge, and try a second cable and a second port.

2. Check the e-liquid

The specification lists for the Pulse X 25K, Pulse 15000, 2GO 50K and Hookah X 25K include an e-liquid level indicator. If it reads empty, or the vapor has turned thin and tastes dry or burnt, the device is finished. A Geek Bar is prefilled and sealed. It is not made to be refilled.

3. Open the airflow

Most current Geek Bar models have an adjustable airflow control (see the table). The draw sensor needs air moving through the device to fire. If the control is fully closed, open it and try again.

4. Clear the mouthpiece

Condensation collects in the mouthpiece and can block the draw. Wipe it, blow gently through the mouthpiece away from your face, and stand the device upright for a few minutes. On a new device, make sure any plug or sticker on the mouthpiece and the base has been removed.

5. Take shorter puffs

If the device cuts out in the middle of a long puff and works again a few seconds later, it has stopped itself to protect the coil. Take shorter puffs. Pulse mode runs the coil at higher power and drains the battery and the e-liquid faster than regular mode, so switch to regular mode when the battery is low.

What not to do

• Do not open the casing. Inside is a lithium battery that can short, and the warranty excludes modified devices.
• Do not charge a device that is swollen, dented, hot or leaking. See vape battery safety.
• Do not use a laptop or phone fast charger, and do not leave it charging unattended.

A new device that fails these checks out of the box may be dead on arrival. Disposables and prefilled pods are covered for dead-on-arrival faults reported within 1 month of delivery. Why is my Geek Bar not hitting?

Most often the battery is flat, the e-liquid has run out, the airflow is closed or the mouthpiece is blocked by condensation. Check them in that order.

How do I charge a Geek Bar?

With a USB Type-C cable, from a computer port or a basic 5V USB adapter. Every Geek Bar model we stock has a USB Type-C port.

How long does a Geek Bar take to charge?

The manufacturer specification lists do not state a charging time. It depends on the battery size, 650mAh to 1500mAh across the models we stock, and on the charger.

Can I charge a Geek Bar without its charger?

The Includes list for each Geek Bar names only the device, so no cable is supplied. Any USB Type-C cable works, from a computer, a power bank or a basic 5V adapter. Never improvise with cut or stripped wires.

Can you refill a Geek Bar Pulse or Pulse X?

No. They are prefilled, sealed devices and are not made to be opened or refilled. When the e-liquid is gone the device is finished.

Can I take a Geek Bar apart?

Do not. The casing holds a lithium battery and e-liquid, and opening it risks a short circuit and the warranty excludes modified devices.
