Every device we sell contains a lithium-ion cell, from a 650 mAh disposable to a box mod running two 21700s. Lithium cells are safe when treated properly and dangerous when they are not.
Charging
- Use a USB-C cable on a computer port or a basic 5 V / 1 to 2 A wall brick. Do not use fast chargers or laptop bricks with high-wattage USB-C PD output; disposables are not built for them.
- Charge on a hard surface, not a bed or sofa, and not overnight.
- If a device gets hot to the touch while charging, unplug it and stop using it.
Removable batteries (box mods)
- Buy cells from a reputable vendor; counterfeit 18650s are common.
- Replace any cell with a torn wrap or dented top. Rewraps cost cents.
- Carry spares in a plastic battery case. Loose cells touching keys or coins can short and vent.
- Use a dedicated external charger for the best cell life and to charge married pairs together.
Heat and storage
Do not leave devices in a hot car or in direct sun. Above roughly 45 °C / 113 °F cells degrade fast and can vent. Store spare devices at room temperature with a partial charge.
Damage
A dropped device that is dented, swelling or smells sweet and chemical must not be charged or used. Put it in a metal container outdoors and take it to a battery recycling point.
Disposal
Dead disposables are e-waste. Most hardware stores, electronics retailers and municipal recycling centers accept lithium batteries. Do not put them in household trash or curbside recycling, where they cause truck and facility fires.
